The
importance of my field
I searched a
report online called The Importance of Accounting in Today’s World. Author
think accounting is one discipline of study that all people should have some knowledge
of, because it concepts can be applied to all job specialties and it is useful
in people’s everyday lives.
The
author listed many examples to represent that nearly all job could applied the
accounting knowledge. Secretaries must use accounting skills to manage the
company check book and orders. Auditors have to study financial statements to
evaluate the accuracy and integrity of the business. Executives need to judge
the success of their business using accounting statements from the past and
present. (Para. 2)
Also companies
require some basic knowledge of accounting to avoid any future misstatements unintentionally
occurring. As the report said since the Enron and WorldCom crisis when
independent auditor Arthur Anderson failed to report illegal accounting practices,
the SEC has been monitoring public corporations more closely which show the importance
of accounting again.
Additionally,
everyone, not just business students, acquire an understanding of accounting
for personal benefit. People use knowledge in accounting in their daily life
like use financial knowledge to make investment decisions, assess interest
rates to pay off their house mortgages, and calculate rates for car payment. (Para.
4)
As we can see
accounting is the most basic framework of business. Without an accounting
education, people will have more trouble in their real world.

I see your points in this post. You also made me see how important accounting is for every field. Good points in the post, but it would be better if your add more about your thoughts and comments after you read the article.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading this post because it informed me on accounting and the different uses of it, but also sold me on its importance in our lives and future. I would recommend not sounding as scripted when it comes to your paragraphs opening lines.
